R5 Event Design had the pleasure of working with one of Canada's most recognized Brands; Tim Hortons alongside Lorraine McMullen from Celebrations Event Planning. The event was a charity gala hosted by Tim Hortons for some of their top executives, partners, suppliers, and sponsors. At the beginning of every year they choose a theme and from there it transforms into an exotic version. This year the theme was Western, which developed into a cross-over between an elegant country awards dinner and a sexy western saloon.
The event took place at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in the Imperial Ballroom and included 300 VIP Guests. The Lobby was transformed into a Western Saloon with Custom Wooden Bars, Wine Barrels with sexy lace finishes, and a Photoshop area resembling a 1920's Burlesque Saloon. As guests made their way towards the main dining hall, they were greeted by a large life-size horse surrounded by a scene out of an old western movie.
The dining hall was transformed into an elegant country awards dinner with life size Props playfully scattered throughout the space and giant string lighting flowing throughout the celing hovering above guest tables. A Private dinner for two was set at the backstage for the organizers of the event with a 30'ft Scenic Backdrop, Life Size Cowboy Props, and a wooden fence to make it an intimate dinner setting. The rest of the guests were seated on Round Tables with sparkling gold sequence linens, gold ghost chairs and the centerpiece was an understated ring of Sunflowers and Candles. The main stage hosted several live bands and a DJ where another scenic backdrop was erected along with various props to create the western atmosphere.
R5 Event Design also took care of all the Lighting & Sound Production where we had 10 Wash Moving head fixtures completely colourwashing the room alongside several special effect lighting fixtures strategically placed for stage and entertainment. The sound system was setup for a concert atmosphere and was executed flawlessly to provide the band with perfect sound.
Of course, we also want to thank our entire team for working hard to make this event a huge success, it could not be done without the dedication of our staff.
